Luke Harding is a journalist, writer, and award-winning correspondent with the Guardian. He has reported from Delhi, Berlin, and Moscow, and covered wars in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, and Syria. Between 2007 and 2011, he was the Guardian’s Moscow bureau chief. In February 2011, the Kremlin deported him from the country in the first case of its kind since the Cold War. He is the author of several books, most recently the number one New York Times bestseller Collusion: “Secret Meetings”, “Dirty Money”, and “How Russia Helped Donald Trump Win”.
In Ukraine House in Denmark Luke Harding will talk about his latest book “Invasion: Russia’s Bloody War and Ukraine’s Fight for Survival”, published in November 2022 by Vintage and Guardian Faber. It is the first account of a war that has transformed international relations and which has led to an outpouring of support for Ukraine in the US, UK and beyond.
“Invasion” is a gripping and compelling first draft of history, chronicle of the war that changed everything. For this breathtaking work of reportage he spent months reporting on the ground during the build up to the conflict and afterward; his book tells of the initial days of shock and panic, the grim reality of this ongoing war, and the unheard human stories behind the headlines.
The discussion will be followed by a book signature session with the author.
