PRM / Great British order to DTL’s CEO

    This order is assigned to only a few nationals outside the UK and the Commonwealth, including a very limited number of Danes.

    The handing over of the insignia to the DTL Director was made by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to Denmark HE Dominic Schroeder at a private ceremony at the Ambassador’s residence on Thursday, February 20, 2020. Here, the Ambassador stated, inter alia: “In Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s name, They are hereby signposted as a symbol of the UK’s recognition of the great effort you have made for the shipping and transport sector”.

    “It is a great honor to receive this distinguished order from Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. I am incredibly happy and proud of this official recognition that has been awarded to me from the UK,” Erik Østergaard said at the ceremony.

    The Order was founded by King George V in 1917 and awarded to various degrees for special civilian honors in areas such as art, culture, science, politics, public service, etc.

    Erik Østergaard is already the holder of the 1st degree Dannebrog Order’s Knight’s Cross and Austria’s merit order “Goldenes Ehrenzeichen für Verdinste um die Republik Österreich”.
