PRM / BIBS Baby Glass Bottle Bumper – recall due to issues with the bumper

    Issue

    We have discovered a possible issue with the bumper on our Baby Glass Bottle and voluntarily recall the affected products. The material of the bumper can in some instances shrink. This can happen if you pour boiling water into the bottle while the bumper is still on, which can cause the bottle to tilt.

    Remedy

    If you have bought a BIBS Baby Glass Bottle Complete Set (110/250 ml) or Bottle Kit which includes a bumper, you can either return the product and get a full refund or throw out the bumper and use the product as usual without the bumper.

    Incidents and scope

    BIBS has received one report of the issue with the bumper. The affected product has fortunately only been sold in a very limited number so far.

    Quality and safety are incredibly important to BIBS. We want to make sure that you always get a satisfying experience when buying BIBS products. We always test our products to meet international standards – in this case, safety standards EN 14350, EN 71-3, and EN 1186 on the European market, and 16 CFR 1500, CPSIA 108, and California Prop. 65 on the North American market. Despite that the product complies with these standards, unfortunately, the issue mentioned above has come to our attention.

    However, the baby bottle and its other features are perfectly safe and work impeccably without the bumper. The bottle is made of borosilicate glass, which is temperature- and thermal shock-resistant, durable, and shatter-resistant. This means that the baby bottle can withstand hard drops and impacts without breaking according to general standards – also without the bumper.

    All below products are affected that includes a bumper (in market since February 23rd 2022).
