Pressemeddelelse fra Re-Match Holding A/S
ISO 14001 is the world-leading environmental standard, and it specifies the requirements for the management system through which an organisation can maintain and enhance its environmental performance. At Re-Match the now certified system has been developed as an integral part of the company’s factory blueprint and will be implemented in all new factories.
CEO, Nikolaj Magne Larsen, explains: “At Re-Match, it is second nature to us to continuously improve our positive environmental impact. Our process delivers a fully sustainable solution for the disposal of end-of-life artificial turf and allows for full circularity of the end materials. Our management systems have been optimized to support this and after an elaborate environmental audit, I am proud to announce that we now have the ISO 14001 certification to prove it.”
Before entering the audit for ISO 14001, Re-Match together with the leading environmental consultancy, Ramboll, performed a thorough analysis of all the steps in the company’s value chains to identify and evaluate the environmental impact. This revealed some interesting lifecycle perspectives, says Quality Manager, Christina Blom Skau Hansen: “Our process permits a reduction of the use of virgin raw materials since our end products can replace them, thereby reducing the overall waste stream and CO2-emissions. Also, we save scarce resources by not using water for the separation – and not least, this process can be implemented world-wide.”
In an industry where customers find it increasingly difficult to establish whether a recycler’s claims of sustainability and circularity are solid, third-party auditing and internationally acknowledged certifications are helpful confirmations on which to make a sustainable choice.
“By receiving the ISO 14001 certification we show that our commitment to creating environmental impact is both genuine and measurable. I know this means a great deal to our customers – and this certification is even becoming a requirement in some countries. For instance, in the United Kingdom the FA (Football Association) is leading the way towards sustainable disposal of artificial turf by demanding that turf recyclers hold the right certifications”, says CEO, Nikolaj Magne Larsen.
With ISO 14001, Re-Match adds to the company’s existing certifications: ISO 9001, EuCertPlast and ETV (EU Environmental Technology Verification).
