Geert Dancet, Secretary General of HCF shared his enthusiasm for this year’s programme: “We can now share this conference platform with more participants from all over the world to raise their questions to truly global top experts “. The conference is scheduled from 1 to 6 p.m. (EET) on each of the two days and the participants of HCF have are welcome to take part in morning activities in the simultaneous events ChemBio Finland and PulPaper.
Based on the current outlook of the global pandemic, HCF will hold its European conference as a global hybrid event, that permits live and virtual international participation and attracted very high level Guest Speakers and Keynotes.
Kristin Schreiber, Director of the European Commission, DG Growth, and Peter van der Zandt, Director of ECHA will open the conference with opening keynote speeches. Top international moderators from Chemical Watch, European Commission, CEFIC, OECD and UNEP will host panels of 4 to 5 expert speakers from different stakeholders and countries. Panels will debate the topics also with the hybrid audience.
Five panel topics:
· Accelerating chemicals regulation: grouping of chemicals, generic approach to risk management and essential use concept
· How to best define and stimulate Safe and Sustainable by Design substances that can replace substances of concern?
· The 3Cs concept: Can chemicals risk management be integrated with circularity and climate policy objectives?
· How to accelerate the replacement of animal toxicity testing?
· A science policy interface for the sound management of chemicals and waste: “something in it for all”.
The full programme of the HCF 2022 is now published with opening of registration for live and online participants. The conference will be held in Helsinki Expo and Convention Centre on 8 and 9 June 2022 alongside with ChemBio Finland exhibition, the event for the chemistry and biotechnology professionals in the Nordic Countries and Baltic regions, as well as PulPaper, the leading international event for the forest industry.
