Pressemeddelelse fra Fairtrade Danmark
Maria Black, Founder and Creative Director at Maria Black Jewellery, and Camilla Erika Lerberg, CEO at Fairtrade Denmark, will discuss Maria Black’s CSR strategy and the challenges of responsible sourcing in the jewellery industry. The talk will be moderated by Robert Schmidt, Head of Sustainability at House of Cosmetics. On September 2021, the brand introduced IMPACT gold, an alloy of 30% Fairtrade gold and 70% recycled gold, making Maria Black the first Danish jewellery brand to produce with certified Fairtrade gold. Maria Black’s responsible journey also includes the use of 100% recycled 925 sterling silver and lab-grown diamonds, which eliminate mining, social conflict, land devastation, cartel pricing, wildlife displacement, and harm to local communities, while keeping the same chemical composition, sparkle, clarity, and aesthetic of earth-mined diamonds. The speakers will introduce the positive impact the Fairtrade certification has on the miners’ working conditions and the environment. The event can be attended physically and online.
