Minister for development cooperation and global climate policy Dan Jørgensen states:
“We can only create a green and sustainable world to the benefit of the most vulnerable people on our planet through broad cooperation. Partnerships are crucial to achieve this, and a strengthened collaboration with the private businesses holds great potential. I am happy to launch Danida Green Business Partnerships, which will support exactly these types of partnerships between businesses and NGOs. I look very much forward to seeing the many applications for projects that promote climate action, green transition and development.”
Denmark provides this funding as a key to achieving climate and development goals and building on the co-benefits private sector led initiatives can bring to local communities in developing countries.
The Danida Green Business Partnerships provide support for innovative solutions that improve both climate and sustainable development and growth.
Danida Green Business Partnerships is a challenge fund designed to promote market-driven green transition and inclusive economic growth in developing countries in line with the Danish Strategy for Development Cooperation The World We Share.
Furthermore, it promotes both commercial and development objectives and brings commercial and non-commercial actors together in partnerships to initiate and promote commercially viable sustainable and green solutions to different challenges in developing countries.
Following the approval of the first DGBP Partnerships in December 2022, the Secretariat now welcomes a new round of applications.
