PRM / MFA: Media accreditation – parliamentary elections in Finland on 14 April 2019

    Parliamentary elections on Finland are held every four years. More information on the parliamentary elections can be found on the elections website of the Ministry of Justice.

    Accreditation

    Accreditation is necessary for all foreign media representatives wishing to cover the Finnish Parliamentary Elections 2019 and to take part in media events.

    Please apply for accreditation at https://www.lyyti.in/Media_Parliamentary_Elections_2019
    no later than Thursday 4 April 2019.

    Tuesday 9 April: Interview possibility with party leaders

    International journalists have a chance to interview Finnish political party leaders right after a televised debate at Sanomatalo. The reserved time for the interview is approximately 20 minutes.

    Media representatives are requested to arrive at 17.45 at the latest to the reception desk located on the ground floor. Media representatives are requested to present a valid press card, a badge or a mandate issued and signed by the media that they represent, plus an official identity card.

    Sunday 14 April: Election Night

    Media facilities, located in the Annex to the Parliament Building, called “the Little Parliament”, are open for accredited media from approximately 17.00 onwards.

    The Press Room at the Little Parliament will offer simultaneous interpretation into English of the televised election night programme broadcast by YLE and a wireless internet connection (WLAN).

    Please note that you are requested to present your ID at the entrance of the “Little Parliament”, when you collect your accreditation card.

    Monday 15 April: Analyses of the election result

    The Ministry for Foreign Affairs will organise a postelection analysis and discussion event led byprofessor Markku Jokisipilä from the Centre for Parliamentary Studies in the University of Turku.

    Please note that you are requested to present your ID at the entrance.
